THE LAST UNICORN

WRITTEN AND DIRECTED BY PALOMA OAKENFOLD

The Last Unicorn is the story of Joan- an unlikely heroine.

Seriously into God and seriously into ballroom dancing, Joan works in a residential home for the elderly, preaching her holy message to the hard-of-hearing. She is the big fish in a small, semi-senile pond....

Until Eve comes along. The hired entertainment for the O.A.P's. She's sexy, she's sassy and she's also a lesbian. As Joan's sheltered existence is threatened, a whole new world is opened up to her.

This is an interactive story of love, true self and bravery told with song, dance and unicorns.

The Last Unicorn won the 'Best New Play' and 'Best Actress' Awards at the Stratford Upon Avon Fringe Festival in May 2014
